THE BESPOKE PROCESS

At Banshee of Savile Row, we create beautifully crafted bespoke tailoring for women. From killer suits, jackets, overcoats and trousers to individual separates, all of our garments are made using the time honoured bespoke methods of construction that are unique to Savile Row.

All Banshee garments are handmade with a full floating internal canvas. The canvas gives the garment its unmistakable form and shape, providing the structure from which the cloth and lining can hang naturally. This gives the cloth longevity, allowing the garment to accommodate any alterations and repairs that naturally occur with of decades of wear.

STEP ONE: YOUR DESIGN CONSULTATION

When you join us for your consultation on Savile Row, or at one of our beautiful trunk show locations, the bespoke process begins. We start with fabrics, covering weights, colours and designs. Next we cover the style details - from the overall cut of the piece, to linings, buttons, width of the lapel and the angle of the pockets. Our expert, all-female tailoring team will guide you through the many options available.

STEP TWO: YOUR UNIQUE MEASUREMENTS

During this initial consultation, we take around 30 measurements. These measurements are given to our master cutter, to cut your unique pattern and create a toile (mock-up) of your garment for your toile fitting.

STEP THREE: YOUR TOILE FITTING

After approximately four weeks your garment toile is ready. This is the test cloth, made-up to make sure we have exactly the right pattern and fit for you. Any necessary changes made at this stage are applied directly to your individual pattern, before we cut the garment in the cloth that you’ve chosen. Striving for perfection at this stage ensures that the final garment is a beautiful fit, perfectly cut.

STEP FOUR: YOUR BANSHEE

Approximately six to eight weeks after your toile fitting, your hand made garment is ready for your final fitting. It’s at this stage that we may do some final tweaks and minor adjustments.

It’s usually at this point where you realise you’ve fallen in love with the process, and you start visualising your next bespoke piece! And, here is the best bit… as we constantly update your individual bespoke pattern throughout the process, any subsequent piece you order is even easier. You simply chose the fabric, decide on the style details, and we make it for you.
